Pre Production Report 1 minuet short film Re-submission

For my pre production report i will be talking about areas ideas costume and costing. My idea for a 1 minuet short film i will be inspiring it off by the film Silence of the Lams this film matches the same similar theme which i will be inspiring my work off of The story features two detectives a serial killer and a murdered victim this will be important as he story takes place right into the horror were the detectives find the victims body butchered. After this scene the other detective invites the other detective over for dinner were he finds that his partner he has known so long has been killing these victims and that his partner has an alter ego of horror.

locations are very important one location would be free as it is shot in the woods the other would be more expensive as it would be filmed in a large castle or a building but the location for this can also be up in London this way i can film a sort of grown up themed lifestyle. Costumes, costumes which i could use such as suits and Fedoras this is the main clothing which i would use were the serial killer would were a suit and the detectives only really need suits and fedoras the reason i will be basing the detectives like this so they look like old style 60s themed detectives.

through this short film I will use one camera the reason this being is its easier to record scenes and shots. When recording the short film i will use static shots with the camera as it will look a lot better and detailed this way there are no complications and also there will be no zooms as this can also break the idea of a static camera.  

as i have done research on the different websites i have also used various sources to help me make a strong i minuet thriller sequence i have also chosen a TV series to help me as well the show which i will be using to help me as is called Luther seeing as my short thriller sequence will be involving detectives Luther is a show loved by many due to suspense thriller which it uses. this is also a more modern example due to trends people in 2016 tend to watch a lot of TV series as this makes the story or plot line easier to follow this is one of the main reasons which i chose luthor because this is a very modern thriller TV series that also relates to my short film as it also features detectives.

Themes are very strong in my short film as i will making this short film in the old style of say the 60s the reason this being is its more interesting because its in the past and its a lot more interesting to see what detectives were like dealing with ghoulish cases. My USP is the idea of the past and the detectives finding such a horrible murder this is not as good as had wanted it to be but the short film i am making is only 1 minuet long so the will not have time to add in any more details. one of the other USP in my short film was actually based of an article in 2001 about the murder of Chandra Levy. This murder was serious this is because they found her body eight years later after the disappearance. but in my one minuet short film there is a plot twist were the detective who found the body in my story. His best friend had committed the murder were it goes back to a flash back. of the piece of evidence that links his friend in the murder.

Finding out distribution is very important because this is how i am going to get my film viewed.and the way in which i am going to do this through is Netflix the reason being is that it is very simple to set up and how it works is you put forward your film to Netflix and it then gets put on a waiting list and if the film is good enough then it gets picked. this is also very effective for my short film as there are many films that get put on Netflix and a lot of people own it. Because of this very reason if more people watch it then. another more minor option was YouTube and this was for a very particular reason this is because on YouTube this is a great opportunity for your short film to get lots of views and to get likes this way it makes it very easy to put your short film through say Netflix. This is my pre production report this should include everything covered about the costs and budget for my short film.
